Bloody curtains fall in this malevolent lair,

Cacophonous cracks of broken bones litter the air.

Atrocities sang in twisted hosannas in this coliseum as

The sands mixed with the seas of blood as man

Entwines with beast in a violent dance.

Gladiators were dressed for death as vexations

Were pitted against his own kind.

Violence became a pleasure as well as a curse

That befell this tragic kingdom.

The lightning cracked, flashing combat.

As cold steel kissed warm flesh, at last.

This stage was meant for one victor only.

The crowds howled for more

In the scorching sun to the ebony moon.

Hello, and welcome to the show,

A nation's head bows,
collective in sorrow.

we are the fortunate.

Pitter-patter people fall,
with no arms to catch them,
with no graves to rest in -
and no tears fall, no
nation mourns on their
behalf.

Shame on you -
prideful and arrogant -
land of the free.
Impressive that you can
bow your heads for the few,
while they are buried in
the sand.

Those shots rang out
a tragedy -
but it was not heard

A Writer's PurgatoryOnly sounds came out of the locked room at the end of the corridor -
Those of pen gliding across paper.

Inside, darkness, with the exception of a small, bleak desk light,
The writer leaned forward,
Putting everything down with mad haste.

Around him, the skeletons of his past laid, spread across the room -
Giving him inspiration while filling him with fear and madness.

After all, whenever he turned around, they were starring at him with a big smile on face.

fed by blood of untold kills.

Death bends his toxic breath,
exuding nameless streams.

To the beckoning temptation

Steadfast by his station

Vigil of the darkness
Watcher of the night
Countless men have tried
To evade his inhuman sight

He is the sum of his fears
For he chooses what he wants to be
He has uncertainties, he has doubts
But is afraid intentionally

He tends the shades of the mighty
And the shadows

A Challenge to ThanatosYou hear the sneers beneath your laughter,
Like quivering arrows shot in the air.
Your own voice taunts and mocks you,
The living mirror of a lie’s contraire.

Making up excuses just to remain calm,
Soon out of things to make you feel numb.
Go on and hide the scars in the sun,
Your acting skills are second to none.

As each time is spent with a life on the edge,

Dreaming, waiting, calling
Child of the starlight,
Not the angel fallen.
