They say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
True.
But sometimes - I'd rather say, often - beauty becomes the synonym of perfection.

Either perfection or nothing.
Imperfect result is equal to zero result.
All criteria must be accomplished, or it all is a flop.
There are seven criteria.
Appearance.
Manners.
Brain.
Charm.
Creation.
Work force.
Order.
There could be more, but I'll stop here.
Doesn't remind you of anything?

"Please tell me if she has brain pathologies".
"Why do you think so?"
"She got a B. And she knows it well that she must only get As".
"I've got an impression that you had a plan of her development before she was born..."
"Yes! And then she was born and spoilt it all!"

Every moment is precious.
By the time she's one, she is to be able to speak frequently, and two languages at least.
By the time she's two, she must be able to read and write.
By the time she's three, she is to begin studying at school.
Preferably not with snot-noses from first grade.
By the time she's five, she is to do sports, arts and foreign languages.
At least.

A little beautiful doll.
Just like the walkie-talkie doll her friend used to have.
"Hello, I love you. Hello, I love you".
"This is the perfect child!"
Yeah, the main criteria is to be like that doll.
For everybody to like you.

It's like a spiky forest.
Walk carefully, or you're going to get injured.
She wins the state competition, no matter which.
She gets only As.
But a dirty plate forgotten in the sink puts a huge red cross over this all.
If you are imperfect in one criteria, you can abandon the rest.

By the time she's fifteen, there's not a track of rudeness and cheekiness all other teens gain.
Polite.
Seen and not heard.
Neat.
Sharing everybody's opinion.
Perfection?

By the time she's twenty, she had already graduated from university.
Now it's time for her to get married.
And not just get married.
Her groom must be the one whom others should choose.
Who knows best?

But then others begin calling her a nutcase.
She doesn't want to gain success.
All she wants is filming.
Or photographing.
Or writing.
Anything that she hadn't studied.
Anything that is not considered as an appreciated talent.
Anything that only freaks like.

She reads a rubbish book.
It's rubbish because it's old, and therefore not fashionable.
Three Men in a Boat, wasn't it?
"This all is rubbish, old chap. It only makes your boat drown".
Nonsense.

The plan of creating perfection was perfect by itself.
All aspects taken.
But then she was born and spoilt it all.

But she's happy.
And she doesn't care about the most important thing.
Public opinion.
A small "soul cry". Because I've seen it loads of times and even experienced sometimes... and is it just me or it seems that it's spreading? Fashion for perfection. Who said?..
Tell me what you think about it, okay?

This spoke to me on a very personal level. It is sad, but I find hope in it and also a sense of solidarity. Thank you. =)
